July Card Making Class Projects

July Card Making Class Projects

Wow, the months are flying by, here’s a roundup of the July card making class projects that we made.

The first card uses the Beautiful You stamp set and the Seaside Embossing Folder. First of all we stamped the girl with the umbrella in Memento Black Ink. We coloured either using Stampin’ Blends or Watercolour Pencils and blender pen depending on preference. Finally the sentiment is from the same set, it looks cute with a small strip of the In Colour Designer Series Paper in contrast underneath. This matches the similar strip placed between the Whisper White panel and the card base of Lovely Lipstick.

The next card was inspired by a sunday sketch design from Patsy Waggoner. We embossed the crumb cake card base using the Softly Falling embossing folder (one of my favourites). Then we embossed the Blushing Bride panel using the hexagons Embossing Folder and sponged over it using Crumb Cake ink. We used Pear Pizzazz for the stems of the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set. The flowers were cut using the matching Bouquet Bunch Framelits and Blushing Bride card. I love the finishing touch created with the circles for the sentiment and the pretty Lace Trim tucked under the Very Vanilla top layer.

Lastly we made a fun card using Animal Outing. Inspired by a design by Cindy Elam this card uses a Lemon Lime Twist card base and leaves punched from the Leaf punch. We embossed the Smokey Slate layer with the Seaside embossing folder. The black frame was created by using 2 sizes of the Layering Square Framelits. The Rhino was stamped in Memento Black ink and coloured this time using Stampin’ Blends. We cut him out using the matching Animal Friends Thinlits and mounted him on dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped in black and cut out using the new Stitched Labels Framelits and adhered using dimensionals.

Card Making Class June Projects

Card Making Class June Projects

Here’s a quick roundup of what we made in our card making class in June.

The first card was inspired by a card from Sandi McIver. We just changed a couple of elements.

The simplicity of this lends itself to any occasion. The stamp set used here is Southern Serenade, stamped in Memento Black and coloured using watercolour pencils and a blender pen. The layer behind this is Gold Foil and the card base is Cherry Cobbler.

The next card was made using Friendship’s Sweetest Thoughts stamp set. Isn’t that a lovely name for a pretty set of stamps?

We used a card base of Pool Party, a silver striped layer from Springtime Foils Specialty designer series paper a mat of Pool Party and the picture mat of Whisper White. We coloured the flowers using Stampin’ Blends. Did you know that there are now more colours available in the Stampin’ Blends? Check out page 205 in the new Annual Catalogue.

It’s the simplicity and softness that really make this pretty card.

The 3rd card we made using the Graceful Garden stamp set. This was inspired by a card from Gosia MacKinnon.

The card base was Crumb Cake and the wood elements are strips of Wood Textures designer series paper to create a fence or trellis frame. We stamped the rose on Whisper White, coloured with Stampin’ Blends and cut out using paper snips and mounted on dimensionals.

Chocolate Treat Time

Finally, with a bit of time still remaining we made a quick chocolate treat holder.  Using a 5cm (2″) strip of designer series paper we punched both ends using the Scalloped Tag punch (retired). We threaded some ribbon through the holes and attached the chocolate with a glue dot to hold it in place. A really easy and cute way to create a small thank you or a table gift.

It’s all in the details

I just love this collection of stamps, designer series paper and thinlits featured on page 26 of the occasions Catalogue, it’s the little details that make the difference.

In this card I have stamped the veins on the designer paper using the stamps in the set. It creates a fresh look on the paper and adds another dimension to your work, it’s simple and it adds to the fun! The patterned paper, stamps and thinlits are available as a bundle. See below for all the details on products used.
